Very cool project! I liked the amount of products you are offering to the public. I have a question:
Does your website/project offer an API?
I’m also presenting a project during the congress, it’s a multiplatform application where I’m gathering the most important projects such as the PBDB, Morphosource and others into a one single site to provide as much information as possible and I think it would be great if I’m able to include your information.
Megafauna 3D is an incredible initiative that takes Paleontology education to another level!
The slideshow is amazing. The color palette is harmonious. The cover is impeccable. I went to check out the website and I was also amazed by the wealth and high quality of the resources available.
The combination of digital technologies creates a super dynamic and accessible learning environment, a great resource for schools, museums and paleontology workshops. The diversity of materials – from augmented reality and 3D models to Minecraft Education – makes everything more interactive and engaging.
It would be interesting to know which of these resources caught the attention of students and teachers the most. Did any tool have a greater impact on the dissemination of megafauna?
Also, how much does the book cost? Can you disclose the prices? Did you ship outside of Uruguay? Is there an ebook version or just a physical version?
Congratulations on the project! I think it’s a brilliant idea!
Who knows, this kind of initiative could be expanded to include other animal groups and perhaps even be used on a global scale. It’s a highly engaging educational resource that allows for truly dynamic activities.
Just one question: Were the 3D models of the animals for virtual reality sourced online, or were they created by your team?
Once again, congratulations!
Sofia, Erick, Malton: thank you very much for your comments and your support. Sharing our work and having feedback on what we have been doing is very important for us. Megafauna 3D has been in existence for a decade now, and although it is difficult to get the funding to ensure its continuity, we have been able to do different things over the years. Some the resources on the presentation are about to been launched in next weeks, and will be fully available in our website (the Minecraft Education excavation, for example), so we encourage you to download and use the resources in your classes, in your museum or at home with your children.
Malton, there is no ebook version yet. The book costs USD 16 aprox. and we can send it to you via mail. Please contact us at megafauna3d@gmail.com to discuss the details.

Answers:
Erick, our website doesn’t have an API, but all our models are available on Morphosource:

Sofia, the animal 3D models were created by a local digital artist called Mauro Muyano: https://mauromuyanomodels.wixsite.com/mauromuyano
Gracias de nuevo.

Martín
Congratulations!! It is a great project!!
